Thrive Tribe NC is a community-based organization committed to keeping families together and out of the family policing system. We believe families are the foundation of strong communities. When families are supported, not punished; communities thrive.

Thrive Tribe was founded from lived experience. Our work is rooted in the reality that too many families, especially Black and Brown families, are separated due to systems that criminalize poverty instead of providing support. We exist to interrupt that cycle.

What We Do

We work on both the frontlines and the systems level to protect families:

• Peer Support & Advocacy – We walk alongside parents through CPS investigations and court processes—providing emotional support, guidance, and real-time advocacy.

•  Legal Connections & Defense – Through partnerships like Carolina Parent Defenders, we connect families to holistic legal representation to prevent charges and fight for reunification.

• Family Defense Training
  We educate parents, lawyers, social workers, and community members on rights, resources, and strategies to prevent unnecessary family separation.

• Thriving Families Fellowship
  We train parents with lived experience to become peer advocates by turning pain into purpose and creating pathways to employment and leadership.

• Rapid Response
  We intervene when families are harmed, offering immediate support while mobilizing community awareness and pushing for accountability.
